We are aware of the importance of the local landscape and open public dialogue with the local community.
The investors of OWF Baltica – comprising of two phases Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 - have already managed, at the very early stage of preparations for the construction of offshore wind farms, to establish good neighbor-like dialog with all key stakeholders interested in the project, i.e. with the local communities of the seaside regions, with local authorities, as well as environmental protection and fishermen’s organizations operating in the area.
Offshore wind turbines are usually located several dozen kilometers from the shore. Due to their considerable distance to homes, residential areas or farming fields, they do not exert any considerable impact on the lives of local communities. Wind farms to be constructed by PGE will be located at least 25 kilometers off-shore. The project’s environmental impact is limited by the considerable distance between the farms and the adjacent Natura 2000 area - PLC9900001 Ławica Słupska.
Construction of Baltica Offshore Wind Farm is not only a project of great importance for the Polish energy sector. It offers a considerable boost for the development of the entire Pomerania region where infrastructure required to connect the farms to the country’s transmission network will be located. Poland’s seaside regions - Zachodniopomorskie and Pomorskie voivodeships - are the ones that will benefit the most from the Polish debut of the offshore technology.
