Description of the project
The Baltica 3 Wind Farm is the most advance of all projects that are being currently implemented by the PGE Capital Group under its Offshore Program. The final objective of the program is to erect, in Poland’s Baltic Sea Exclusive Economic Zone, offshore wind farms with the total installed capacity of up to 6.5 GW.
The installed capacity of the Baltica 3 wind farm will equal up to 1,045 MW by the year 2026. The future farm will occupy the area of approximately 130 km2.
Wind turbines comprising the Baltica 3 wind farm will be installed between the towns of Ustka and Łeba, approximately 25 kilometers from the shore line. The farm will be located at a considerable distance from the protected area of Ławica Słupska.
Status of the project
- In January 2020 the Regional Environmental Protection Director in Gdańsk issued a decision specifying the environmental conditions for Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 wind farms with the total capacity of up to 2,500 GW.
- In October 2016 the company under the name of Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica 3 signed, with Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne, a grid connection agreement for up to 1,045 MW.
- In April 2012 a decision specifying the farm’s location (the so-called permit to build artificial islands) was issued.
